One of the main initiatives of the International Bandurist Forum is a musical program aimed at the restoration of lost traditions of musicians in Ukraine. In particular, it is a question of the almost lost tradition of musicians playing in the Kharkiv bandura, a version of the instrument that was actively used in Ukraine in the first half of the twentieth century and almost disappeared from the use in the 1950s. Instead, in other countries this tool has not lost its position and is still popular.

Visitors to the Forum’s musical programs will be able to hear the game on these unique instruments, visit the master band of famous bandura players on the Kharkiv bandura, compare their acoustic capabilities and characteristics with the new type of instruments.

Participants of the musical marathon: Sofia Al-Khadidi (Vinnytsia), Dmytro Hubiak (Ternopil), Timothy Starenkov (Kyiv), Georgiy Matviyiv Odesa), Boris Ostapienko (Kanada), Bandura Beyond Borders (Quartet, Canada), Taras Stoliar (Kyiv), Julian Kytasty (USA / Canada), Peter Deriazhny and Nila Deriazhna (Australia), Oles Beregovy (Argentina), Volodymyr Voit (Ukraine), Victor Mishalow (Canada), Jazz Quintet “VIDLUNNIA” (Kyiv), Chomub.ini 2.0 (Kyiv).
